MEN who are suspected by their GPs of having prostate cancer are not getting the potentially life-saving fast-track diagnosis they were promised, new figures show. The men have been referred by their doctors to public rapid-access clinics where they should be getting an appointment for tests within 20 days. However, figures obtained by the Irish Independent reveal that just 4pc of men are being seen within the deadline in the Waterford clinic and it is only marginally better, at 10pc, in the Limerick centre.
